I made a flappy bird clone from scratch in less than 5 min

This have nothing to do with oculus, but i found funny that i was able to make a working clone of flappy bird in that time frame, of course its so simple to fit in that 5 min, and i could have made it in 2-3min if my keyboard didnt act funny. It only comes to show the simplicity of the game, and how it was a hit without any work behind, in like 30min i could have made the full game.

The IDE i used its GameMaker Studio, wich its kinda good for 2d games, the language used its GML, a simplification of C#.

This might be why the author took it down; he was feeling guilty for making so much money for such a simple game.

This story is also a message to developers: the difficulty or skill it took to make your game is irrelevant to it's success.

he was feeling guilty for making so much money for such a simple game.

Do you have any source for that statement?
As far as i know he took it down because of all the fame and trolls that came with it when it became viral,
also i see no reason why one should be ashamed of making lots of cash with a simple, yet addictive game.

and how it was a hit without any work behind

What about the whole design process, increasing difficulty level altering the leveldesign, multiple screen resolution support and so on?
Only because its simple doesnt mean that there was no work behind it.

Maybe 1-2 hours of works, i didnt say he didnt deserve it, i just said you dont have to make an AAA game to sucess.

He did an interview with rolling stone, here.

In short, his game design philosophy is to make simple to play but difficult games. He took the game down because he couldn't even leave his house due to constant harassment from media and such. While he was happy with the success, at least at first, the game was starting to make him quite unhappy.

I wasnt meant to be surprising, more like the other way around, it was meant to show the simplycity of the flappy bird game, at least angry birds had some little work behind.
