Need suggestions for a good wireless PC headset

GoldenRetroGames

I'm in the market for a good quality wireless headset for my PC. All I want is high quality sound with no noticeable latency. I don't care about fake surround sound features. A microphone is completely optional, but it must completely swing out of the way when not in use.

All suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I just use a Sony MDR-RF855RK. Nice and simple, runs all day.

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for if you have a keen ear though.

I ordered a PLYR1, as Best Buy has them on sale. We'll see how it goes.

just did the same, thanks for the suggestion.
Almost ordered the plyr 2 instead - note that it is NOT an upgrade of the plyr 1, it's the other way around (glad I read the specs and reviews).

I got my PLYR1 and am so far impressed. I've only used them for an hour or two, but will break them in over the weekend.

The only thing that I dislike about the Plyr1 is the automatic turning off when it's not playing a sound.. that iritates the !@#% out of me.

The auto shutoff is annoying, but vastly superior to the Sennheiser HDR120 set I bought for the TV. On those, the base station shuts off when there is no audio for 30 seconds, but it doesn't mute the headphones which then blast you with white noise. Unbelievably stupid design. The amp hisses if you turn them up and there is always radio interference. They also fit like crap. Maybe their higher end stuff is good, but the $150 Sennheiser are garbage. I would never buy that brand again.[/rant]

The Skullcandy plyr 1 arrived yesterday. Huge improvement over my old Koss in every possible way and I can even drink my beer without raising the microphone:D
I was very pleased that I can use them with the Buttkicker gamer, which doesn't normally work with USB headsets. The plyr1 has an optional 1/8" jack that allows you hook them to the analog L/R speaker output. With that setup the USB is only used for the mic. 8-)
Cheers.

Good to know, as I was looking at getting the buttkicker once I devise a way to incorporate it into my cockpit. With my planned speaker layout design, the Gamer1 or w/e it's called needs to go behind the seat so the soundwave is on my back. The issue is that the seat is designed like a carseat, in that it moves forward, backward, and also has the "lean".

I'm thinking of a bracket that mounts to the bottom, and forms a reverse L shape.. at the 90 degree turn in the L, have it "spring loaded", so that it will go back straight when I put up the seat, and rotates down when I angle the seat down. One of the issues I have atm, is that along with being "programmer" inept, I am also inept at CNC / Machining ><

I have the Samsung Gear Circle. It's preety good and it has AptX and Samsung HD audio. It lasts 9 hours per charge. No active noise cancelation but I think it's good for the price. $99.
