Ray-ban meta glasses

Hello, why do I need to be connected to wifi just to import media? I am on holidays and I want to record a video and import the video over mobile data. Why do I need to go back to hotel just to import the media? I want to be able to import over mobile data, this restriction is pointless and ridiculous at the same time. Meta needs to address this issue and fix it, software update should remove this restriction and allow us to import media over mobile data and not only over wifi.

Can it not use your phone's 5G?

Would have been nice if they had their own sim card - that would be incredible.

Big PC, all the headsets, now using Quest 3

I just got my Meta glasses yesterday and came here looking for answers to my questions. Saw yours, so respnding.

I was able to import away from my home WiFi. However, it was kludgy. I think when a home WiFi is not available, the glasses creates their own WiFi network that your phone must connect to to do imports. Then, my phone was stuck on the glasses WiFi network until I quit the app.

I wish Meta would have done transfers over Bluetooth; I'm sure someone who knows more than me can justify or correct me.

You don't.

Just put the glasses back in the case and wait - it will synchronize automatically.

Otherwise, in the Meta View app, you can tap on the button (the one indicating media is pending download). At this point, your phone will connect directly to the glasses WiFi (through a link that you may have to authorize on your phone once). Then, the transfer starts immediately.

I've done this numerous time, outside any WiFi connection.

Enjoy your glasses - it's a fantastic and underrated travel companion.
