I had a bit of an accident a while back, snapped the soft squishy bits that connect my knee to my lower leg and badly broke my ankle, The docs told me what I did is one of the most painful leg injuries. Yep it hurt a bit as I did it but then the adrenaline kicked in and by the time it wore off brain had clearly told leg it knew it was trashed and to shut the ...... up. Which caused a slight problem in that no one, me included noticed the broken ankle till the anesthetist spotted some tell tail bruising on it as he was prepping me for the knee surgery a few days later. The leg been told to shut up carried on even after surgery where I had a hard time convincing the nurses I didn't need any pain relief after the stuff they pumped me full of in the operating theater wore off.
