Meh, its not like the NSA doesnt already copy your details. Also, Mark looks good, maybe a little too much plastic surgery.

Folks, if you are going to have this discussion, no politics, only within the realms of VR. I'm keeping an eye. Thanks.

I deleted my Facebook account - not that I used it much. It has not affected my opinion of my Rift or the Oculus team - they made a fantastic product.

If you're worried about your privacy, you don't put your life on Facebook, or anywhere else that the internet has a connection to.
I don't understand why people feel the need to share everything with everyone.

To answer the question, though, I think this breach is like all other breaches and all the rest of them to come. Data protectors are always going to be on the back foot, fighting off more and more breaches. The simple fact is that, as the amount of stored/shared data increases, so does the effort by the "bad guys" to access it.

Just stop putting your stuff out there.

Dunno dont care the only thing I have on face book is my name and acess to a gaming community. (Shrugs)

That and the fact that several organzations and banks I have accounts with have been  hacked in the past.

We live in the digital age noones information is safe.
WAAAGH!

Well I think Mark looked pretty good, considering the drama.
You reckon he wears makeup? I noticed some sort of foundation, maybe

What surprises me is that people are surprised.
It's always been possible to scrape data from Facebook. For example, take a look at the built in Facebook data scraping that Wolfram Alpha used to have (before Facebook changed the API in 2015 to limit the data): http://blog.stephenwolfram.com/2012/08/wolframalpha-personal-analytics-for-facebook

I could probably build an interesting graph of relationships on this forum by scraping post likes, awesomes and lols, since not only is the count visible but so is the name of each person that did each vote.
But that would involve doing web stuff, and there's other things I'd much rather be doing (falling down a cliff, getting my foot bitten off by a shark, etc).  🙂

Due to the sensitive nature of the topic (as it tip toes around hardcore politics), I don't see much need to keep bringing it up. There's no breaking news (yet).

Even more surprising is that Log_a_Frog didn't make this thread a poll. 🙂
