Hey there! So the forums don't really have a feature to delete posts, but from what I've seen, a lot of users edit out their posts leave them blank, or state that their issue was resolved.

Yeah, it's really to prevent conversations that may have been contributed to by other people being deleted leaving threads that are confusing or misleading as a result. It's common practice for forums to restrict the ability to delete to mods for that reason. Editing comments and deleting text that way is ok as people can see the conversation has been edited.
Or you can leave comment in the thread asking a mod to delete the thread or comment and they will if it doesn't mess up a conversation too much, you may need to tag someone (type @ followed by their username) to be sure they notice your request.
