Quest 3 no sound via steam link

Hi, I’ve just got a quest 3 to play on steam and ordered a few games on steam ready to play , however I cannot get any sound out of the quest 3 when connected to steam , I have tried every thing I’ve found online and nothing works , is there a fix for this please before I send the quest back for a refund

hi, no i cannot get it to work on steam link but it does work on meta , ive tried everything i can in sound settings etc , all software is up to date and i have even tried steam beta

Thanks so much for the additional information! Although Steam VR is not officially supported, we do have some limited troubleshooting steps to offer. Please see below:

• Ensure the Link PC VR app is setup to Allow Content from unknown sources
• Restart your PC, close Steam if it opens automatically
• Launch the Link PC VR app
• Connect your headset to the PC VR app
• Wait 3-5 minutes or until you are in your PC VR Home and see your library
• Launch Steam, then Steam VR

hi, no still no luck with it, only way i can get sound on steam vr is by going through meta then steam vr but its very juddery when doing it that way where its smooth and no hesitation with steam link just no sound either with link cable or without

i have solved it, accidently but its working fine, i uninstalled oculus headset driver from my sound device in device manager just to experiment and the sound started working straight away through steam link 🙂
