MultiSensorRecenter.exe "Failed to create mirror texture"

Anonymous

I was about to setup Touch with my EVT (thanks Andres!), but I am stuck at the step where I am supposed to configure both sensors.

MultiSensorRecenter.exe is throwing me a "Failed to create mirror texture" when the service is enabled and "failed to initialize libOVR" when it's stopped.

I am using the MultiSensorRecenter.exe from the 1.2.1 Final package. Also, When pairing the touch controllers, it apparently downgraded my Rift firmware, which Oclus Home then upgraded again.

I think for recentering you can just use the Oculus desktop app: gear icon -> Settings -> Devices -> Sensor -> Reset Default View in VR. For pairing, it may install an older firmware, but after updating in the Oculus desktop app it should work (I just did this earlier today).

Thanks! Was confused because the setup didn't display the second sensor and for some reason, only the SPACE key worked (instead of the Xbox A button or remote).

Just tested the placement and it looks like I'm being tracked by both sensors :).

Maybe one addition:
It seems like to properly run through the setup, I have to face the sensor directly. I have them both setup at the end of my desk, but the setup tool doesn't like me looking "straight ahead", because I would be not facing the sensor. So my forward position in Home is always 45 degree rotated.

That's strange. I recall calibrating the camera at an angle before.

It displays the "Your sensor isn't tilted the right way" message and asks me to take off the Rift. I am standing and the sensor is pointing at the HMD.
