Unity 5.4 - Native Oculus supports

Hi

I was wondering if there is an approximatevely estimated date to see the Oculus SDK natively integrated inside Unity.

Since we're trying to support NON VR mode + Oculus CV1 + HTC Vive we could really benefit from a unified integrated VR support in Unity.

I've seen that the latest Beta (12) has added the OpenVR SDK,any idea when Oculus will be implemented as well?

Could make sense to wait a week or so instead of starting trying to support all the external SDKs to just then roll back to the native integration just a week or two later?

Thanks

- Andrea

According to Unity, the latest beta is compatible if you replace the DLLs as with previous versions.

Yeah but this looks like Unity 5.4 only support the external 1.3 SDK plugin which is not what i'm looking for.

I'm looking for the native Oculus integration into Unity which Cyber already told us is coming but still not ready (few days ago). So instead of trying to support with external plugins and extra work 2 different headsets + monitors i was asking if the native integration into Unity is coming soon so i could work with that that should avoid me a lot of work.

What is referred to as the "native integration" is already in Unity for quite a while now. I was under the impression that the update would simply be that the now-public 1.3 SDK DLLs will be included in the Unity install folder by default instead of 0.8, saving us the step of overwriting them after installing. Can you point me to the post you are referring to?

Ok seems you was right! Just replacing the Dll should be enough to have the native integration working with the latest runtime! Cool!
