Meta wants you connected. Your online activity is Meta's most precious asset. Thus, it is very unlikely that we are allowed to use Meta's VR headsets fully offline (unless you switch the headset in "offline mode" but then you can't Air Link anymore).

What I find odd, or ironic perhaps, is how few Quest standalone games even use hand tracking or body tracking, due to overhead, but on PC this overhead is virtually nil.
So they block full body tracking on PC via a developer account (which hardly anyone has or bothers to get), in order to give Quest games a leg up (unfair advantage, blocking people from using features they paid good money for), acting in an anti-competitive way with other platforms, and yet, PC VR isn't really in direct competition.
You've won, Meta! PC VR is practically dead. Congrats. Now let us use our Quests fully on PC without resorting to such transparently obvious ploys to prevent any competition. Or others will do it for you. (Virtual Desktop or SteamLink)
It's really sad, pathetic really, how inferior AirLink is Virtual Desktop, written by one guy (or two if you include the author of VDXR). People should really look in the mirror next time there are mass layoffs, and ask themselves, did we really give this our best? Did we really give a __mn? Like Carmack asked? Or just, whatever...shrug.
