Oculus Link Sync Issue with Quest 3: Video lag behind head movement

Hefan

I've found a bug with the Oculus Link software using the official link cable and Quest 3.

Every time I try to play some relatively demanding PCVR titles or enter some heavy worlds in VRChat, after the computer stutters for a few seconds for loading, the headset tracking and the streamed video feed go completely out of sync.

The frame rate in the demanding scene after loading is high and smooth, but the video feed in the headset is a bit delayed relative to my head movement, resulting in an extremely nauseous experience. Even after I quit the demanding game and returned to Oculus Dash, the problem remains, and the video feed is still delayed.

This bug can be reproduced consistently. Reconnecting the Oculus link briefly eliminates the problem, but the delay happens again when I try to load scenes. This makes the Oculus link unusable.

Any solutions?

Hey guys! I just wanted to check in on this thread and see how everyone was doing. I also wanted to say thank you @DJTaranis  for letting us know you got it working for a bit before it stopped working again.

I also wanted to let you all know that the v62 update should start to gradually roll out on the 7th, and there are supposed to be a lot of updates for PCVR. If you're still having trouble with video lag in your Quest 3 headset, I recommend sending a private message to our @MetaQuestSupport page so that this can be looked into further.

My graphics card driver, oculus software and Quest firmware are all up-to-date, and the video feed out-of-sync problem remains.

I am also having the same issue. Definitely a driver issue within the quest 3 and rift software

I've noticed the only way to fix it is to close the game out and restart the game.

And i know its not the device since i have two quest 3s and they both have the same issue

Yeah exactly. I doubt it has something to do with the compression because sometimes I see a blurry mess before this bug triggers.

We need to get Meta/oculus to be aware of this. I've sent a few reports via Quest 3 and Oculus software but received no feedback.

Hey guys, could you let me know if you're still having this sync issue? There were some issues that were addressed recently and I'd like to confirm if this was solved or if we should reach out to our engineers.

Thank you in advance!

Hey there, thanks for reaching out. I've just tested on my setup using the Quest 3 v59 firmware and the Oculus PC app version 59.0.0.138.366, and I can confirm that the problem is still happening. It might also be worth mentioning to the engineers that sometimes, taking off the headset and putting it back on seems to fix the issue, and the video feed syncs up with the head movements again until next desync.

Thanks so much for trying to get this issue solved!

Same for me.
