It would be useful if there was a platform API for getting the name of the release channel of the currently running build. It is fairly common development practice to have different build channels using different servers or databases for example, and I would like to avoid having to actually package new builds for those channels, so that I can migrate existing builds without worrying about mismatches.
I am currently looking into this and will advise you on if any of these features are already being considered or road-mapped for future integration.
