If Meta Support sees this post, I wanted to request for them to please bring back the ability to use the expand view feature while using within an application.
The new update removes the ability to switch to expanded view while using an application so I am stuck using the smaller screen size.
The new expand view, is only limited to using with the home environment area and not within apps, it is also not compatible with bluetooth controllers like the previous expand view feature was.
The previous expand view could be used in applications and with a bluetooth xbox controller which allowed me to use the expand view meta browser within applications to play xbox game pass cloud gaming.
To reiterate, the new expand view can’t expand within applications, nor can it be used with a bluetooth controller even in the home environment.
I use the Skybox VR Video Player app in combination with the Meta Quest Link app to be able to complete work on my MacBook Pro or play a game on my gaming pc while sitting in my childhood home.
I recorded my old house before I moved out with an Insta360 One X2 360 degree video camera.
It brings back a lot of great memories being able to use my Nintendo Switch, Macbook, or Gaming PC with the Meta Quest Link app along with a capture card while sitting in my childhood home in the Skybox VR Video Player app.
The expanded view option allowed me to experience this with a large screen, theater-like experience.
Please, I am begging you guys to bring back this feature or allow me to expand the display within apps again in a future update 🙏🏼
Please do bring this feature back. I genuinely can't believe it was removed...I thought my headset was glitching or something when I didn't see the Switch View button...super frustrating honestly
Switch View helps me read text better than flat panels. Also was more comfortable to my eyes. I have poor vision and it allows me to not need glasses when browsing. Please bring this back.
Everything had been so streamlined with regard to easily moving and resizing the windows when they're curved, And now moving the windows is clunky and arduous. It's not even easy to make them all the same size and it's even more difficult to position them all an equal distance from each other once you change the size of one even slightly. I can't think of an advantage of taking away an option we had and forcing everyone to use what is probably the less preferred option of the two. So far It's annoying enough to potentially send me back to just using my PC for a lot of stuff.
Yes, please bring back that option, is a bad choice to change it the way is now, I can’t have now 3 browser windows open at the same time with good view…
