Changed Weight distribution + Charging and Using

Can someone tell me how to post photos please?

I made a little modification which has changed the weight distribution I thought I would share. Super easy and super cheap mod.

When watching films, no matter how you change the straps, even with extra velcrove stitched into the unit, after ten minutes it feels like the front of the vr unit is pushing down on your nose as if all the weight is resting on your nose.

I found that the strap which goes over your head to sit in the front middle of the unit makes all the difference in the world if you take it from its hook bar and move it to the front of the unit over the other side of the focus wheel.
With a small modification you can have it hooked in between the white plastic and the black plastic, which in turn lifts the unit from the front of the mount rather than the back which takes all the weight off your nose.

Also cutting the foam mask into pieces so that you can use a thicker piece to work as the nose support is so much more comfortable.

Spread that cut foam mask out to the sides , the top and nose and it lets the air flow through alot better without light getting in.

Then you have the fan with the credit card sized battery charge and a tiny switch on the front cover. All this makes my unit sound like a real frankenstein object but I think I have done a really decent job and making it look very clean.

I am lucky enough to have a few phones and a couple of units with the S^ on its way and of course that unit when it comes out so have happily been working away on making this unit as good as i believe it can get. Maybe gone a bit further than most of you who are not as fortunate to have a couple of units. So thought I would share and show you my mods so you can decide what you mgiht go ahead and attempt to make it more comfortable and airy for yourself after seeing what I have done and what worked out.

Im pretty stoked with changing the weight distribution.

I have just forked out for the samsung level over headphones which im really hoping are as good as the reviews seem to be. $429 is a load of money, so to make some of that back I am also keen to sell a set up, either my modded unit and a week old note 4 or my non modde3d unit and a week old note 4. If anyone is interested please contact me.

two more mod I want to try is this tiny small 5v fan that I believe can fit inside inthe unit where your face goes just to the top right near your eye without obstructing view and then also I am curious to know if anyone could tell me, if i got to the usb jack on the unit, could i wire or even insert one of those dual male usb adapters so it can charge at the same time??
There is so much room to hide the lead to charge it and then a simple cut at the bottom so you can plug the lead in. If you look in the front of your unit you will see where the lead could sit, but I need to know if what I am thinking would work or not and keen for some opinions as Im ready to give it a go.

Just a pity Samsung did not spend more time with Beta testers who did not have to pay for the device to figure out all these changes they should of made. I think the VR should of been free for those of us who went out and purchased Note 4's just for this phone (i would of continued with the Note line anyway). Considering the comfort level and fogging issues.
I remember when i first got it how i thought it was super comfortable.

Also if anyone has any good things i can add to the VR that are not in the Store, please advice. For example i know the virtual porn is made for VR and it loads into the VR and stays there when you go to vr videos, are there any other things that sync up with Gear VR as well (thats not porn) which i am missing out on?? Experiences, apps, etc?

My personal biggest annoyance is that the 3D Trailers look awesome because they can take advantage of using the note screen and going outside just the theatre screen making 3D great, but all the 3D films that were filmed in 3D suck. The best i found was great gatsby when the plane was diving to the ground, felt like roller coaster. When can we buy or rent films for the theatre? So much money for them to make there as torrents in 3d suck.

I still cant believe there is not one single roller coaster app or experience for this thing yet. That was the biggest thing a couple years ago and nothing for this.

yes there is a ton more stuff out there .. you are already in the right place. browse back a few pages and you'll find links. there are sites with 360 videos you can download, you can add your own content to the cinema, you can download 3d side-by-side videos from youtube and watch them in the cinema, you can use the gear vr to make your own 360 photos, etc more more more. It's an innovator edition so you will have to go out there and find some stuff yourself

I think it only works in MilkVR right now, my newer videos also work fine in the 360 videos app ...
anyway for this one copy to /sdcard/MilkVR , then inside MilkVR go to 'downloaded'.

For hosting pictures, you have a couple of options. You can upload directly to the Oculus forums, by adding them as "attachments" (underneath where you're typing out your post, there's an "Upload attachment" tab. Choose File -> Add the file -> Place inline. Or, just use imgur.com (click upload images at the top, then drag and drop an image to upload it, and it will give you links you can use to paste into your post, etc.

OK, I do not have my other one here, but on this one, you will see how it simply slides in and then the lip of the strap simply connects inside there My other one I have ut the end of the strap and given it some more length by sewing more material too it and then that in turn lets the comfy headrest on the strap sit in its normal position.

Even doing this though just like the photo allows change of weight distribution, just not as comfortable as it is with the head resting part being extended.

Nope there is nowhere to add atachment here....

Also this front casing holds the battery at the front, where as my other is stitched to the strap

Here is a better photo showing how it simply clicks into place and takes all the weight you need it to.

Just lift the white plastic up, slip it in and it click in there as if it was made to.

I do suggest thinking twice about the cutting of the strap if you are going to sell the thing because you can not then put it back to the old clip. Though you do not need to cut and restitch extra length on as it is comfy enough as it is
