I'm not a developer; just a user. Wanting to get an idea of what people would like on Gear VR. Maybe a developer will make our wishes come true.
Quake VR (game is 16 years old so I "assume" the Note 4 should handle it) Mechwarrior VR (another 16 year old game) GTA VR Shenmue (old Sega dreamcast game I use to play) Flight Sim Unreal Tournament VR Half life (not sure if the Note can handle this one) Roller coaster simulator (build your on rides and download to the SD card) NBA court side view with selectable angles Arcarde racing (from the drivers seat with plenty of hills) Full Screen game emulator (Sega, Nintendo and Mame) Netflix
Hell; I can see many of those old school games getting reworked for Gear VR. I would love me a VR online Mech combat game. Most games back then were light by today's standards and ran on Pentium 2 single cores running 300 to 400MHz. I believe Gear VR could bring new life to some of them.
A customisable room to be your Oculus home. Nothing madly complex, just some simple furniture, textures and basic layouts and the ability put the Oculus navigation elements in different places.
(And if it could stream Netflix/Amazon Prime and have a virtual Kindle then that would be a further slice of fried gold)
I'm a product designer so I bought this with the hope I could view my own models. There's an autodesk guy starting to look at it. For stuff like Thingiverse/123D catch/etc. a universal viewer would be cool.
I would love to see Google Street View on the Gear but I surely won't hold my breath on that one. I should know if Google street view works on my Note 4. Let me check...
We definately need more "adventure" stuff like "Dead Secret". For me, this is the best thing on the GearVR so far. The one "Killer App" I thought will never happen. :lol:
Unfortunately, this type of game has relatively low replay value.
There are many webcams currently showing live video feeds from all over the world. I would love 360 degree stereoscopic live video feeds from cameras all over the world that I could watch on my Gear VR. Urban scenes, natural vistas, Everest base camp, northern lights above the arctic circle- we should have those available within our lifetime. With ambient sound.
