Day 13 and still no Chromecast feature anywhere. Am I missing something? I've seen the app update multiple times since my last post, but I've searched everywhere for cast button but can't find it. Where is the button supposed to be located? I can cast to the chromecast with Google Home, but I would really love to use the Oculus casting feature.
Why can't we force an update? Why don't you publish the version level required so we know if we need to "be patient" or if we actually have the right version and it's some other issue keeping it from working.
EXACTLY what version of the software is required to cast Gear VR to a chromecast gizmo?
Samsung Galaxy S8+ Gear VR Chromecast gizmo Android 7.0 Google Home 1.23.35.2 Oculus 3.12.0.4.50
Do I have what I need to display my VR screen onto a TV via chromecast or not?
S7 Android 7 Android TV Google Home v.1.23.35.2 Oculus 3.13.0.14.118 Oculus System Driver 1.6.2-60960672
If I recall correctly, there weren't any updates the morning that I woke up and found the icon there. (The 3.13 update happened at least one day prior to the icon showing up if I'm remembering right.)
Humm these are the same versions I have. I even updated my chrome cast last night as well. I tried all the suggestions I've seen online of starting something else casting first etc. Nothing seems to make the cast icon show in my app. I wonder if its less about a version and its like that other button they added that time where they roll out the enabling of the flag already built in in to the app in waves.
Day 27.000015 still no Chromecast. I'm beginning to wonder if it was all just a dream or some crazy hoax. Maybe the pealing paint on the wall was a sign of things to come. That or maybe i'm just crazy just like father had always told me. I guess we'll just have to see now won't we... 😐
