I just received an older Gear V R which is for the Samsung Note 4 (got from eBay). The seller verified that the head set works fully
When I connected the phone in to the head set, the Oculus app and it's updates down loaded successfully
But when I put the phone in, I get a error message saying "Oculus run time has stopped " and then get a black screen. When I take the phone out, the black screen remains (with a white x in the corner) for a few seconds then reverts back to the usual phone menu screen
When I wait for about a minute, some V R menu comes up to tell me to adjust the wheel to my liking, but that quickly shuts off back to black screen after about 10 seconds. It may come up again for a few seconds, then back to black screen again
I am in Britain, but I have a AT&T US version of the Note 4 which is running on the 5.1.1 Lollipop (some how this got sold to me on eBay) and I can not update to Marsh mallow 6.0.1 with out being connected to AT&T, which we don't get here. I am on the three network, but the soft ware update option is greyed out
I'm having the same problem except I didn't get the headset from a different person, this is my own headset I bought directly from you guys. And don't tell me to uninstall and then reinstall all the Oculus stuff, that's what started this problem in the first place.
Do you know if lollipop 5.1.1 works with the latest version of the oculus app? because there is no way I can update my soft ware as I have an American phone that is a AT & T version , Note 4
are you able to update using a usb cable and smart switch? and when you brought the gear vr on ebay, did you get the 16gb card that comes with the gear vr?
