In the recent Best Buy ad from July 23rd, it lists that you get 3 Free VR games if you purchase the new Gear VR controller. The ad doesn't mention which 3 games but it states that a code will print on the receipt. I purchased the controller but no code was printed. I checked with Best Buy Customer Service and they didn't know anything about the ad. They also checked with the Samsung rep and they didn't know anything about this either. Is anyone aware of this promo and how to go about getting the free games? The controller is pretty cool so far but would be even more fun if I can redeem my 3 Free Games as advertised.
Looks like Best Buy is running the same ad this week but it seems they "corrected it" because it now actually lists which games they are giving away for free when purchasing the controller. The games are Rangi, Night Sky and Esper 2. I checked with Oculus and they said to check with Best Buy. I chatted with a Best Buy rep and they said I had to go back to the store if I wanted to get my 3 free VR games. Night Sky is already free and I'm not sure Rangi and Esper 2 are worth the hassle of waiting in line for a 2nd time at Best Buy customer service. When I originally bought the controller, since BB couldn't re-print the Free VR game code, they did knock $10.00 off the price of the controller (from 39.99 to 29.99) so I could at least use that $10.00 and buy my own game. Which I did and ended up buying End Space. If anyone thinks Rangi and Esper 2 are worth a trip back to the store, I can try my luck and still see if they can conjour up a code since the ad/promo is good until August 5th.
At that point it's not worth the price of the uber trip to bb and back for me. Oh well. I'll prob just buy them anyway. Thanks for the info and glad it worked for you!
