I have a S6 edge, a gear vr and a lot of VR video. Before i was able to read file with size over 4gb. In fact the S6 and the app can play them But after 10 or 15 minutes of continuous watching, the S6 became hot and the app asked to make a brief pause in order to let the S6 get less hot.
With the recent update of Samsung VR app (or other samsung app? because there is a lot of samsung app installed for the vr), now it is not possible for video file over 4gb. The app samsung vr lauches the vr video and after 5 seconds it says that the video can not be read. I know that there were some burning issue with the Note7 but it seems that Samsung does not want to take risk even if there is no problem with the S6 and S7.
I need to use the Samsung VR app. So I downgraded (using apk file) but it does not work, it keeps the same issue Does anyone have a solution?
Something similar has started affecting me with the update....I hadn't tracked it down to file size, but definitely most of my videos now can't be played in Samsung VR
