I'm able to read files from SD card in Milk and Oculus video now. Perhaps they fixed behind the scenes?

I moved all my videos to this path:

/DCIM/
/Movies/
/Oculus/Movies/

Still it says "to see my own video, then record with camera or copy the video to phone"

The Oculus 360 Video update doesn't fix the SD card bug for me. Oculus Video still doesn't see any files on my SD card.

What is your process for trying to access the files? Create a folder on SD card at root level called movies. Put whatever in it. In Oculus video app choose device then gallery. They will be there.

Maybe its different version of this app ?

My version gives no option about any device.

It sais category: and under there is it:

Facebook Videos
Movies
Tvitch
Vimeo
Shorts
My purchases
My videos

And under my videos doit sais i need to record with camera or copy video to phone to watch it.

And i updated the app today, and i also saw the msg about SD card fix before i updated

Hi, I'm from France and in our Oculus app we just have :

Facebook Videos
Movies
Tvitch
Vimeo
Shorts
My purchases
My videos

Nothing about "Device" or "Gallery" in our application.

For myself still a problem. I can see Storage movies but none on the SD Card

Hi, I ask oculus some day about it, and they say that it is not possible to watch videos on Galaxy S7 SD, only internal one.

["Hello Jose,

Thanks for contacting Oculus Support today!

At this time the functionality for playing videos off of an SD card has not been implemented for S7 devices.

Our teams are hard at work to add this feature in a future update.

For now, I recommend storing videos intended for playback in Gear VR on your phone's internal storage.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please let me know.

Thank you!

At the risk of sounding like a cracked record 😉

..MilkVR

It can be done, and Oculus even rolled out an update that works for some S7s.. they just
don't seem to have got it right.

Not convinced that their fix needs service library updates that aren't rolled out across all carriers yet (what
about sim free handsets?) because, y'know.. MilkVR which seems to read from SD on all S7s (well no one has
complained it doesn't yet) 🙂

(Ok ok, it's Friday, but that Oculus support reply you got just doesn't sound right) 🙂

Yes but in MilkVR you don't have the amazing cinema's room 😄

I know, hence the frustration that they can't fix Oculus video yet and the reasons given for the delay don't add up when you consider that MilkVR can read from SD 😞

I hope they have all this fixed soon, I really am wondering if samsung gad allowed external cards to count as 1 total hard drive internal and SD card slot if this would be avoided
