Lock out/turn off touch controls on Gear?

Does anyone know a way to lock out or disengage the touch controls on the side of the Gear? There are circumstances when I want to put the device on a Client, and use my remote controller to move them through images. I have had times where they accidentally touch the pad when putting on the Gear, and end up screwing things up/jumping back to the Home menu.

My firm (I'm an Architect) has many 3d printers, so I will look into printing in one of our offices. Did yours address how it is attached to the Gear? Or just taped on for now?

Hi Cahorton,

I've received the cover and it covers the trackpad very nice. The attachment however is very tricky. Taping it looks flimsy and
easily gets knocked off.

I'd suggest adding some material so that it aligns with the GearVR and is easier to tape, possibly with some double sided tape. see image;

I realise this is not a pro endeavour, yet I appreciate the effort you've done so far. 😄

Does it also cover the BACK button? (That's where I've had more problems with Clients)

nrollins, it does not cover the back button, but my hand forms a bridge over it when I hold the GearVR. My goal was not to block anything, just to make it hard to accidentally click (otherwise you will have to remove it every time you want to go back!). Fastner-wise, I tape it down with invisible tape on 3 sides, but see below.

C360, thanks for the feedback. While tape on 3 sides has been holding ok for me, it doesn't look as cool as your photoshop. I will see about adding that after Connect. I've also been thinking about trying removable glue dots or thick double sided tape.

Any news about this? I really like to see "hold home button or press 2 button at the same time, for enable/disable touchpad" function or something similar.
