Minecraft VR and PS4 Controller

Earlier I bought Minecraft on the Gear VR store for my Galaxy S7.
I have both Gear VR and PS4 controller connected to my phone.
The PS4 controller is successfully connected over bluetooth.

When I start minecraft VR it tells me to Press X to continue, I do this but nothing happens.
I pressed anything but I can't make it pass this screen.

What am I'm doing wrong?

maybe it doesn't work with PS4 controller...i find that it is really laggy too (as in the delay when pressing a button is pretty bad)

When I use the ps4 controller, my view starts to spin 360° and I have to hold the right joystick in the opposite direction to counteract the spin, in turn rendering my right thumb unusable.

I second that. PS4 controller would work fine if not that spinning problem.

Third this. I would love to play minecraft vr, but like those above me said, camera just keeps spinning. I can play other GearVR games just fine with ps4 controller and no root. Please fix this ASAP

This is because I think the L2 / R2 analog buttons start at -1 when untouched through 0 (when half pressed) to 1 (fully pressed). The slightest touch of L2/R2 causes it to register and sensed as fully (-1,-1). It could I think be fixed by adjusting the ps4 key layout file for these buttons remap flat center (but this requires root access). Or it could be fixed in Minecraft by allowing the player to remap/ disable the L2/R2 axis.  But I would prefer it be fixed in Android or if we could have a generic controller settings page in Android independent of any game allowing us to remap. Sigh, it is a pity the state of  controller support in Android is not minimal and what we have is clearly an afterthought...

I also tried it with both the new snakebite controller (released march 2016) and a relatively new white PS4 controller , both have the same problem.
