Problems with in app downloads

Recently purchased a gear vr to go with my Samsung S7 phone and ive run into a frustrating issue. Any app that requires me to download the video in app so when you launch the app you need to tap to download doesnt work.

You tap, a progress bar appears. the video downloads as I can find it in my downloads folder but when its finished it asks to tap to download again instead of tap to open.

Ive spent hours now try to figure out what is wrong. Uninstalled twice, reboot phone, create new oculus account but nothing works.

Any help much appreciated.

Try uninstalling all the Oculus apps and services, see here:
https://support.oculus.com/help/oculus/1772668642989617
Also, some apps may require you to leave the headset on while downloading in-game so be sure to wait.
