Have any of you with the S6 Gear VR have issues starting certain apps in the Oculus home screen? The apps are as follows:
-Vanguard V -The little Crane -Minotaur Rescue -Rocket toss -Dodge This Demo -Shooting Showdown 2
Once I select them, the screen goes dark, as though it is loading, but then goes right back to the Library screen in Oculus home. The only exception is Rocket Toss, which will load the splash screen, but then goes right back to the library. Any idea what's wrong here? I want to purchase a couple games, but won't spend money if it's not going to work....
Just did a reinstall of all the software. The same apps still crash. It is a new phone, only about a week now.The included apps like cinema etc, work fine
I have not rooted or nodded the phone. It's a brand new S6 with everything updated. I also make sure that nothing is running in the background. I'm at a loss of what it could be.
Are you a developer by any chance? Because getting the logs from the phone could be helpful but it's a pretty involved process if you're not a developer (and, well, even if you are).
Unfortunately no. Just an enthusiast. My only thought is that it they are incompatible with a newer update, but you'd think there would be a lot more with the same issue.
I can't get Vanguard V to launch after install. From what I've read, it's only compatible with DK1-2. I haven't tried any of the other apps you have listed.
The only one I've tried so far is Minotaur Rescue. It did not work for me either. I emailed Oculus about it a couple weeks ago and they said they would look into it...
Just goes black and then back to menu Dodge this Demo - Was going to try the full version but I am not buying any apps until these glitches are fixed. Mortal Blits VR Lite- Same things was going to get full but demo doesn't even work Shooting Showdown - Both new YouVisit Apps are crashing also. Just get a black screen and goes back to menu.
Vanguard actually looks like it wants to load. I see the loading status bar. I hear maybe 2 seconds of music that kicks on once the status bar gets pasted half way. Then screen goes back to menu.
I am using S6 fully updated. I have deleted the apps and installed both through VR and through just the app on my phone with the same results.
Also a side note. I tried the the Speech Center which I know is not on the Oculus app but thought I would give it a try since it was the silver winning in the Jam Contest. This app you need to load first and then hook your phone into the Gear VR. Well this app crashes and resets my background picture to default blue one my S6 came with. Very Strange.
Even deleted the Oculus app and reinstalled to try and repair. No luck. Any suggestions would be great
