S7 Edge overheating with Gear VR (Pre-order Bundle)

I have made sure all other programs are closed out before using the VR but I am still receiving a notification after about 25 minutes of play/viewing. Are there any software updates or anything else to help with this.

Are you saying you're getting the message telling you to take it off because it's overheating?

What game / app?
Big PC, all the headsets, now using Quest 3

I get the message in both games I have tried. So far it has been in 'Land's End' and 'Ocean Rift'.
Yes it says to either remove or stop to allow cool down. When I remove the phone from the Gear VR it is very hot.
So plugging in and starting a game i can play for about 25 minutes then have to remove the phone to allow cool down before trying to play again.

Sounds like there's something wrong with your phone Jim - i've asked on here if any users of the S7 have had that warning, which is common in the S6 and S6 Edge - i don't think anybody has:

You have to plug the phone into the gear vr to initialize the app. Afterwards it can be found in your app drawer

Overheating has always been a problem with gear vr. But 25 min is really fast, might be because playing some high demand graphics on the phone. my friend has a note 5 and it doesn't overheat that fast, it dose sound like a phone problem see if you can use a different S7 on the gear vr to see if you have the same problem.

Are you using it while plugged into the charger? That will cause overheating
