Submitting Games for Gear VR

Hi,

Apologies for the n00b question (I dont have a working Gear VR yet in UK - O2 and their stupid firmware ggrrrrr)...

I have a game which I want to push to Google Play but also make available for Gear VR.

Does anyone know the process for submitting games? Is it even possible yet?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

I believe you can find most of the information on this page: https://developer.oculus.com/documentation/#filter=mobile

Do you have any pointers to a guide to do this and the firmware required? Any help advice on this would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Ok, this assumes you have a N910-F model of Note 4, if so download the firmware from here:

http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/39930/N910FXXU1ANK4_N910FBTU1ANK2_BTU.zip/

There are instructions there on how to install the firmware but essentially, you download a program called Odin and run it. Then you connect your phone via USB to a PC (always use a main USB socket on the motherboard not a front facing or extension cable). Then boot your phone in to download mode (power button, home button, volume down button). One that loads up you'll see the phone appear in Odin, add in the firmware file and click start. Just follow the instructions on the link above.

BE WARNED THIS MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE IF YOU MESS IT UP. YOUR PHONE ALSO NEEDS TO BE UNLOCKED FROM ANY CARRIER OR THIS WON'T WORK!

Have a go at your own risk! But it worked fine for me once I found the right firmware that would work with my phone, none of the other carriers firmware will work with an O2 phone due to the way the files are partitioned so only this firmware from the link above will work.
