Update to fix "no audio in app" when Chrome casting

Hi, one of the major reasons I purchased the Chrome Cast was to be able to see what my family members see while they have the VR headset on. However, every game I have disables the audio in app when Chrome Casting. Why? The audio doesn't even play in the headset anymore. Any idea when Samsung will send out an update to at least allow the audio to play in the headset if not also on my monitor?

Bump! Can we please just have audio through the headset?

Have there been any updates on this issue? Does using a newer version of unity actually help? If so, what version? I need to figure out if it will be worth moving everything to a newer version of unity or if that will just be wasted effort?

Echoing everyone here. We are unity developers who want to fix the problem. Where can we find the tools we need to push an updated patch?

With the release of the Oculus GO, a device that is a direct competitor to the Gear VR the Samsung-Oculus partnership is at risk, thus the lack of support and development for the Gear VR.

What other excuse would an issue related to a main functionality  not be resolved 15 months since it was raised.

Is the oculus go really a direct competitor? I would have figured they are based on the same requirements and use the same SDK's. Anyone using oculus to port their big boy vr games to mobile vr would be 2 clicks away from making a gear vr and oculus go port.

@cybereality  there is no excuse for the negligence on your companies part.

Hey everybody,  our team has discovered something interesting about this. It's more relevant for developers, but I'm hoping that it can help find a good solution. It seems that if you are running the apk from the same account that uploaded it to the oculus store, the audio will work while chromecasting. It you are running the game from a different non-developer account (say a regular user or an alpha tester) then the audio will be muted and the "audio has been disabled" message will appear. We have tried this on different phones and accounts and it seems to be consistent.

We have no idea why it's happening, but it might help shed some light on the issue.

this doesn't seem to be getting any attention, any other devs want to comment on this?
