The Oculus smartphone app is a crappy experience. A REALLY crappy experience.
But why is that? Itś 10 month since the first version - and there are updates all the time. But still: if i use the app for more than 2 minutes, i am looking like this: http://www.cinemablend.com/images/news/ ... 338228.jpg
2 examples:
1. UPDATES. Lez look how we have to make updates...
1. Scroll thru all the games in the library till you find one with an update 2. Leave the library and change to the store 3. Scroll to all the games in the library till you find it there and look whats in the update 4. Leave the store and go back to the library 5. Find the game again - then make the update
6. Repeat steps 1-5 for EVERY GAME that needs an update
7. Repeat steps 1-6 for Experiences and Apps
ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME ??? Its not that hard. Give us a "Updates" section with all the apps waiting for updates in one place, and show us whats in the update not only in the store, but in the library (and the update-section) also.
2. CLUTTER
For the love of god, please let us hide or remove apps we don´t want to see! Everything we ever installed is in our library - and no way to hide or remove it. We don´t need to see apps we deinstalled because we don't like them. And we don´t need to see demos of apps when we installed the real things already. Half of my library is made of apps i don´t want anymore.
I understand that apps we bought are in there (even when we de-installed them) - but PLEASE let us at least remove or hide "free" apps like demos.
I LOOOVE my gear VR - but we are just a few weeks away from consumer release - and this app is NOT ready for primetime...
Total agreement, what they said...Would love option to pick my own theme for Oculus, Space?!? Or make it like a live wallpaper that you have option to change. Also payment options, like play store credit. Plus shouldn't have to repurchase content I already own. Would like a better layout for library that I can customize, place apps where I want them. Folders inside gallery with logical navigation, there is a touch pad, up down tap to open. Just ideas...
+1 here. Themes would be nice, but at least a stripped down interface would be nice, where I can turn off all the ambient environment, and hide any apps I want. It would make for a cleaner experience, and for companies like mine who use GearVR as a business tool, it would allow us to embrace this device more fully. Right now it's hard to use the device and present a professional face, when I have Clients see the silly Oculus 'home' environment, and apps for games and stores.
On that same note, how about a proper hard protective case for the GearVR and accessories? It's also very hard for me to justify our company invest in GearVRs as a presentation tool, when we show up to Client's offices with our sophisticated, professional device in a sack!
I just did the latest upgrade on my G Note 4 and once I'm on oculus it doesn't identify my SD card AND I CANT VIEW MY 360 VIDEOS. Any one know how to fix this?!!!! NEED HELP!!!!
I haven't read every post, but I'm surprised I haven't seen more complaints about the layouts in the Library and Store.
There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the order of apps. The order in my Library seems to rearrange every time I open it. Shouldn't it be in, I don't know, alphabetical order... or the order I installed them?...
