i've found a bunch of information from different sources. looking to consolidate.
known info:
* file naming for 3D config (.txt), movide, and image file (*.png) must be the same (prefix). * 720p resolution recommended by john carmack. * location choices for movie to be recognized and picked up by oculus video. 3D folder must be created in those directories for 3D movies. side-by-side understood by default. over-under (a.k.a. top and bottom) requires specification in 3D config file (.txt).
would like to know:
* what are the most preferred settings for encodes (best practice). this would include resolutions for both 2D and 3D movies (not the same, right?). * is it possible to orient movie poster/images vertically for the image file for each film under 'my videos'? this would be similar to the 'movies' layout for films you purchase. * what are all the possible properties and their proper values for the text config file (*.txt) that's used for specifying 3D type? * where is the moon theater? why is it missing?
