1.3 on the DK2, experiences.

I just installed the 1.3 runtime for use with my DK2 and wired razer (xbox 360) controller.   It all worked great.  You can only get so far in the hardware setup process, but if you click the "skip" button it works great.   Although there was no chance to input settings for the camera height, or the IPD.  So I assume the defaults are working good enough.

The store/library software works great, and is huge improvement over other systems for VR and launching software.   The controller integration works fine with a non xbox one controller.    But you do need some kind of controller.  You have to press the A button to move past the warning screen when launching apps.

I tried some of the concepts, and the Jaunt app.  All work fine.  The Jaunt app feels like watching a movie on an OmniMax at the museum.

I noticed an interesting scale issue.  When watching the "house party" VR video, all of the people appeared to be super short and small.   But if I stood up (I was sitting), all the sudden they were the right size.   If I watched them while standing, it looked like they were growing before my eyes.   It seems that your apparent eye height relative to others, and your current configuration (sitting, standing, etc..) have a lot to do with how you determine scale, especially of other people.

Anyway, even with the DK2, this software makes it a whole new experience.  I can't wait to try the Vive and CV1 when they arrive.

IPD settings is a must, most things work on DK2 with 1.3 but cant take too much of it because my IPD is far from default.

I already have project cars on steam, does anyone know how that would work with the oculus store? I assume I don´t ahve to repurchase the game.

SteamVR uses the Oculus 0.8 runtime, so it won't work with 1.3. You'll need to wait for Valve to update.

My Steam just did a major update.  I wonder.....

dreamdeck is cool eh!!!

I loved the city scene where you are really high up and the last T-Rex scene! For some reason the picture seems a bit crisper in the DK2, but that could be my imagination.

I didn´t care for the fire scene with the low poly animals, but the rest was cool!

If you want to have Pcars working with 1.3 right now, then you'd have purchase from the store but, there is going to be a resolution soon that allows Steam version users to have access to the proper version - although, it's not clear how that's going to work yet.

Thank goodness for the big 1.3 update and new apps for DK2 users. Keeps us busy waiting for the preorders. I'm putting my pitchfork down for now.
Dreamdeck was pretty cool. That miniature city made of paper.. wow. I just wanted to play with it like a 10 year old boy!

I can't seem to get the Dreamdeck to work right, it will only let me select the first one because the head tracking thing barely moves when I move my head so I can't select to Play All. Any suggestions there?
