Hey all!
I'm one of the folks at
Oculus who has been working on Oculus tracking and roomscale support. When
I was experimenting with different setups, I decided to start up a bit of a hobby project to create a few mounts I could use at my setup at home.
I got into 3D printing
about a year ago, and have been having a lot of fun creating some custom items
like this. Note, these aren't Oculus products or endorsed as official
Oculus mounts, but I figured if people in the community wanted to give a shot
at printing them and adding them to their setup it could be a help. 3D printing can be difficult if you don’t have a lot of experience, so in many cases you’re better off buying official tripod mounts. That said if you’re up to the challenge feel free to try printing these and/or modify them for your own use. These are the items attached:
Sensor-holders
holder-corner-slim.stl - Slim version of corner sensor mount
holder-corner-standard.stl - Full rectangular version of corner sensor
mount
holder-flat-slim.stl - Slim version of flat sensor mount, for
mounting directly on a flat wall
holder-flat-standard.stl - Full rectangular version of the flat mount
Cord-guides (to keep the sensor cord against the
wall)
cordguide-corner-slim.stl - Guide which uses one screw to press the cord
against the corner of your wall
cordguide-corner-standard.stl - Guide which uses two screws to press the cord
against the corner of your wall
cordguide-flat-standard.stl - Flat guide to press your cable against a flat
wall
In case you want to try
printing, I used these print settings on my personal machine:
Material: ABS (though PLA or other materials may work)
Infill 20%
Top/bottom/side layers: 4
Speed 40mm/s
Have fun!
P.S. I ended up designing these for #2 Phillips 1" 2.54cm drywall screws. You should be able to pick them up at a local hardware store if you don't have compatible screws already.

I realize this is an old thread, however these corner mounts seem exactly what I want.
A friend has a 3d printer.
How does one go about downloading the plans?
the attachement links don't seem to do anything.
I've recently acquired an OG Rift CV-1, and have 3 sensors i'd like to mount, and some cables to manage.
I will probably get a better headset this year? Quest 3? but for now... need these!

Had this thread pinned for 2 years just waiting for when I made my mind (and had the spare cash) to do a roomscale setup, because these are probably the best 3D supports and holders that I've seen around. The day has come, but it seems that the change to "Meta" did something and doesn't even let you download its attachments from the old forums. Great job guys.

If you right click and copy the link on the two download images it is for the zip files. Just did it on my phone

The entire forum software was changed a couple of years ago and the new one doesn't allow zip uploads.
The files are still accessible from these links though:

Hey, that was a quick one!
I've imagined that as much, now looking at the links I noticed that I was a total dumb and forgot to take a full look at the html of the page, the links are still there.
My bad on this one, thank you so much for that! Hope that this helps or make it easier for other folks looking for this as well.

I had to dig into the html too. 🙂
It sounds like the mobile site was still showing the links based on what Momonucleosis said.
Another annoyance with the forum change over, all embedded youtube videos changed to just urls. That really ruined the first 80+ pages of the music thread. It was nice to see the preview image before playing.
