860m Oculus Help

Dear wonderful and awesome community,

I am very much interested in developing for the Oculus, but I am an indie developer running on a small budget and was wondering if my current rig would do well with the rift.

It is a gaming laptop with an nvidia gtx 860m (4GB version) and an i7 4710HQ CPU with 16 GB ram. modern games run on it great and i have no problem working with unity on it. However I have no idea how well the rift would run on it and that is my only problem right now, is there a way to find out? like do we half the Frame rate we get in games and thats how we figure it out (double the work)?

I hope someone will be kind enough to give me a some help in finding out what is needed to develop and to game on the rift, especially if you have used the rift on an 860m card (or equivalent).

My best regards,

As a general rule, if you can run it, you can develop it.

If it helps, I've got the MSI GS60 with 870M (3GB RAM), and it's running all of the DK2 stuff just great 🙂

Thanks, not sure if the 870m helps or not as it is a better GPU, but thanks! its good to know regardless and I suppose it is not that much better than the 860m  at least it gives me an idea 😉
