Hello,
I have filmed 2D and 3D videos with my Insta360 Pro 2 camera at 4K, 6K and 8K.
On Meta Quest 2:
- I can view all the 8K (7680 x 7680) 2D (monoscopic) videos in 30fps and 60fps.
- I can view the 4K (3840 x 3840) 3D (stereoscopic) videos in 120fps.
- I cannot view the 8K (7680 x 7680) and 6K (6400 x 6400) 3D (stereoscopic) videos in 30fps.
I load the files on Meta Quest2 and use DeoVR and Meta Quest TV, standalone playback.
Does anyone have any luck with this? Is there any headset that can play 8K 3D video?
Many thanks

My Quest Pro can't play 8K 3D 30FPS content in Quest TV or Skybox VR smoothly. They all play stuttering like a PowerPoint.
I think that's the limit of the video decorder in that chip, maybe you can try Quest 3.

Thank you for the information. However, streaming or decoding 8K 3D is much more challenging than what's discussed in that post. I’ve also tried watching Avatar 2 in 3D on my Quest Pro, and it’s indeed amazing. The best 3D movie I’ve seen is Pacific Rim because most of the scenes were captured with a wide-angle lens.
