Advice for purchasing the new Desktop GPU Laptops

Hi Folks,
So I wont bore you all with why I'm looking to move to a laptop but It is something I think I need to do at this point.  I have the CV1 with touch pre ordered as well.  Im looking at buying one of MSI's new VR ready laptops with the desktop gpus.  Specifically looking at:
MSI GT73VR PRO 202 Laptop
  • 17.3" FHD 120Hz Matte Screen

  • Intel® Skylake i7-6820HK

  • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 [8GB] VR Ready

  • 32GB RAM

  • 512GB PCIe NVMe + 1TB HDD
Im wondering if anyone here has experience with these mobile desktop GPU's and can speak to the quality of the experience.  I had always heard that VR and laptop dont mix but it's looking more and more like this is a totally viable option.  I understand they are more expensive than a desktop solution but I'm willing to pay the extra for a portable quality solution.

Am i crazy or should i pull the trigger?

Thanks for any advice!

The MSI GT73VR is very good machine, if you want the full espresso look at the P870DM3, 6700k desktop CPU and 1440 panel. If you purchase I would recommend HIDEVOLUTION.com
