Any news on shipping for international backers?

I'm very glad that Oculus have started shipping out the Rift dev kits to backers in the US. Looking at unboxing videos and reading impressions about the Rift makes me incredibly proud to have backed this, you have truly made an awesome product and I am really impressed about the general quality of both the dev kit and the SDK.

However as far as I know Oculus haven't started to send out the Rift to early international backers yet. It would be really great if you guys at Oculus could tell us the reason for this as well as an estimate when you will start sending dev kits abroad. After what I've understood you've had a pretty strict "first come-first served" policy regarding the shipping so I'm hoping us international backers won't have to wait too long 🙂

Order 34x in the UK and arrived on my desk. Cue 4.5 hours of finishing what I'm supposed to be doing today whilst trying to ignore the completely over the top yet awesome box in the corner...

Haha that would be me also. I've only recently ordered mine so will be waiting a little longer. How was the delivery? Was there any problem with import taxes etc? (I'm in the UK too)
PiperAlpha- Order #: 507** - Location: UK East Yorkshire - Status: PROCESSING since July 24th, 2013 Patiently waiting and creating my desktop folder of all things Oculus

Order nr. 52, Norway. Still processing...

Hmm..

I'm order number 40, Sweden. Still processing and still no DHL tracking info.

Oh well, since people are starting to get their orders now I'm guessing it won't be all that much longer now.

Number 973 here in Sweden, I was waiting for a mail and the status to change from Processing. All of a sudden my coworker comes walking with a box with my Oculus in it. So beware, it might appear out of thin air.

Damn, that's not terribly promising 😞

Of course, since some kits arrive before their tracking number, we are in a confusing position. Could be yours is held up in customs?

It would be interesting to collect some more anecdotal "statistics" for this though, so if anyone has a time window from 'Processing' to tracking email to share, please consider doing so.

Order 180 arrived in Sweden today. Love the case and all the adapters. Too bad there was no mini displayport to DVI/HDMI, now I will have to locate my own box of adapters. 😛

No issues at all and very quick! Shipped on Friday and so far no import taxes, although that's not saying I won't get a bill in the post..

You're all in a good situation compared to me. I've ordered the Rift on Wednesday, but made a very stupid mistake and entered a non-existing email (a mailbox that was deleted a year ago), as I rarely use that card for online shopping and totally forgot that it doesn't exist anymore. So I mailed the support thinking it's a small issue that can be solved in seconds... But no! They were unable to help me as both the confirmation mail and the transaction id, which they require, were sent to that mail.

My credit card was billed, but now I'm left completely in the dark with no way to know if my order will ever ship and when. My worst nightmare is that they will cancel my order in about two months as no confirmation arrive from my side, and by then they will stop the shipment altogether.

I'm so frustrated :x

i've built a few bigger websites with billingsystems myself and actually your mail should be stored in a database for confirmation. every verificationsystem needs to store the data somewhere for comparison and it shouldn't be a problem changing yours to an existing mailaccount and resending the mail. they also could set the verification flag to 'ok' themself and change your email afterwards. I can't see how this is a problem for the support...
