Anyone else skip RE7 because of the lack of VR on PC?

After reading all of the positive reviews of RE7 I've been tempted to buy it, but it's been difficult to pull the trigger because of the missing VR support on PC. I feel like I'd be spoiling the experience for myself playing through for the first time on a flat screen when there is a superior version out there.

If there had been no VR support at all I probably would have bought it already, but now I'll probably wait a year or more for it to be cheap and support VR on PC (if it ever does). In my case at least the  PSVR exclusivity cost them a sale, which seems stupid considering that PSVR and the rift/vive aren't really in direct competition.

Anyone else holding out?

Good to see I'm not the only one holding out. At least I have plenty of other things to play in the mean time and it'll likely be discounted. I'm just afraid the VR version won't come to PC at all. I haven't seen it promised anywhere.

No VR - no buy. As I happen to own a PS4 (the original one) chances are higher that I'll invest in a PSVR setup in addition to my Rift than me playing RE7 on a PC monitor.

I wanna get the game for VR - but like most games - Once I play and beat it once - it's hard to replay it again without something new happening.

This game will take a full year to come out for the PCVR - I don't see too many people playing it by then - That 1 year lock was kind of silly if you ask me - 6 months? Maybe - but a full year was stupid.

Sadly, I will get the game because I do wanna play it - so I hope someone does find a hack/work around that will work before then.

Resident evil for ps1 was my first horror game ever, I was around 8 I believe. And I remember falling in love with the immersion. Turning all the lights off while alone in the house, turning the speakers up and zoning out. It was the musical composition that drew me in, and many times almost made me nope right into turning the game off, even when there were no monsters or jump scares the music filled me with dread/suspense. Luckily I manned up as much as a 8 year old can, and blasted my way through zombies whilst trying to find enough bullets and herbs to keep from becoming hamburger meat. (lovely description I came up with from observing doom2 doomguy icon when you have low hp)

This led me to enjoy R:E 2-3-4 / Silent hill 1-2-3 / Alone in the Dark / Parasite Eve / and probably many more. So you can bet I would want a full vr version so I can make more retarded sounding noises from the scares.

That being said I agree it's ridiculous to have a full year exclusive, most games used to get a sequel in that time, not finally be allowed to play on a different platform. I'm really tempted to simply never buy it for that reason, the only thing that makes me want to still even consider it, is the fact that I know I'd have a blast. In no way does it make ps4/psvr (don't have either) a must have imo, in fact it makes me even more reticent to consider it since they paid probably a lot of money to give non PS people a thick shaft in the bum.

If it were available for the Rift I might give it a go, however now I do not have much desire for gaming on my 2d monitor anymore so will not be getting it myself.

I saw people online playing RE7 on the Rift. How is that done?

i played it trough non VR. Super awesome game. Loved it. And i will play it again as soon as it get released for VR/or mod. Don't really see a reason why to wait.. it's still one of the best games right now even without VR.

Because the jump scares will no-longer be scary once you have played it through.

Buy it now and play it, you will have forgotten the jump scares in a year!

I'll be waiting until next year before I get it, 5 and 6 were shite but 7 is sounding much better so I'm really looking forward to it. I don't mind waiting and I certainly won't play it 'flat' before I get the PCVR version.
