When I watch movies in the CV1, I don't seem to be able to judge what size screen I'm looking at? When I'm sat at my local cinema, which isn't very often. I can see I'm looking at a massive screen and can judge it's size. When I view a movie on the CV1, I don't seem to be able to convince myself that I'm looking at a large screen for some reason. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?
FOV, peripheral vision helps with a sense of scale, people who suffer from tunnel vision have a harder time judging depth.
CV1 has a fixed plane so you are always focusing at around 6.5 feet. That is roughly the distance from your couch to your TV, so it always feels like the image is only 6.5 feet away, even though virtually it looks huge. The lack of multifocal focusing tells the brain there is very little scale. This is what the half-dome prototype is trying to fix.

Yes I have this problem unless I am watching in a virtual cinema environment. When you can see the seats around you and the room you are in your brain is easily convinced that it is a large screen far from you and not a small screen closer to you.
Protocol7 has hit the nail on the head, cinema environment helps a lot with the illusion.
The updated Skybox vr that allows using the front seats and variable lighting to match the video on the Go make an even bigger difference compared to the Void environment.
Does SkyboxVR allow you to sit in a seat central to the screen? I hate other apps that only give you options to sit in a seat that is slightly to the left of right of the screen. I like to watch movies sat central to my television at home and I can't get used to doing it another other way..
