I'm so ITCHING to purchase the Quest 3! I'm too scared because it seems the Quest 3 has issues. How long to ya'll think these issues will last; when will all the 'bugs-be-gone'? I've never had any issue with my Quest 2, and I just love it. My daughter is waiting for me to purchase the Quest 3 so she can have my 2. When do you think it will be safe to purchase. Oh yeah, hopefully by the time I purchase maybe the price may have fallen a bit too!

Don't get me wrong, I would buy it again, but I think Quest 3 is over priced at $650. And after struggling with the 64GB Quest 2 for a couple years, I wouldn't even consider buying the 128GB Quest 3. I imagine the operating system is going to continue to get larger on the Quest, and I was to the point where I stopped buying games on the Quest 2 because I was sick of playing "musical chairs" with my apps trying to get them to fit.
The worst part about it is the accessories. I bought an off brand elite strap for $20, and I don't like it as well at the meta strap I had for quest 2, but its better than the default strap for quest 3. I'm thinking if these small companies can sell these elite straps for $20, what do they cost to make? Maybe $10 or $15? At $650, I think meta should have just tossed in the elite strap assuming it would have upped their cost by $15 (minus the cost of the elastic strap). Why get us for another $70? And then maybe design it so that the battery can be added later?
Anyway, that's my 2 cents. I love the product, and maybe the headset is a screaming deal at $650, but given they sell a headstrap for $70 that has no more plastic in it than straps that other companies sell for $20, I'm thinking maybe the $650 is a bit inflated as well.

Hmmm this is a difficult one. Well let's start with price - I wouldn't expect a price drop for 2 years or maybe not at all - the Quest 2 went up and is now at it's original price. These aren't expensive products and the worldwide economy is putting stress on prices of everything at the moment.
Bugs? The Quest products get regular updates as you'll be aware.
Hardware issues - of course with large numbers sold you're going to get a very small percentage with issues - it remains to be seen what's going on with passthrough. We have seen small hardware improvements on other headsets - straps, facial interfaces.
I've always seen it as the longer you wait, the less (time) you get for your money. For me they are useful until the next headset/generation arrives - about 3 years.
