This is my first time here and with VR Experience in general, i was wondering if my setup could work for the Ouclus Rift S or the Oculus Quest 2 (PC VR Mode). Here's my Setup:

it will work but you are talking about the lowest settings on everything, and not everything will work, and a lot of the bigger games even at lowest settings simply won't run, and V desktop while being great does not work with every game.....so with that setup it's a gameble to be honest until you plug it all on......of course the Quest 2 also can play vr without a PC, so there is that option if you don't mind having your games locked to one hardware.....i mean for £299 you could grab a Q2, try it on your setup and if it does not work then you can return it for a full refund.

That's what I have and yes, it works. People must stop answering questions they don't have the answer for. A GTX 1050 2GB is enough to run most games. But you'll have to keep low/medium graphics settings and stay at 72 Hz. The only games I ran issue with was because of my CPU and RAM, not the GPU. Blade&Sorcery, for example, shuts itself down because I run out of RAM.
VD works perfectly too. In fact, it works better than Link because VD doesn't run the Oculus software, which relieves the GPU and CPU.

Yeah at least with the Q2 you can fall back on mobile vr gaming.......well good luck, hope it all works out. 😉
I have a surface book 2, nvidia 1050 2gb cared and oculus rift. How can I use virtual desktop. Could you help?
A 1050 will not work with the pc oculus app and quest 2, too low end doesn't have the features.
Virtual desktop is a gamble, as it might not even work at all depending on other factors. (Virtual desktop is emulation, so steam might work in some instances, but not all, oculus games may not totally be fully functional)
But if you have 20 dollars and a 5ghz router/modem and your computer hard wired to the router.
