Now, i'm trying to make a video about the "cheaper vr rig" possible (and i have to actually build it), i saw that a 960 is the minimum required to run the rift, so i was thinking that a gtx 1050 should be able to run VR, anyone can confirm?
Should be able to as a ( edit...50's and 60's lol) 960 is min, yes. Be very aware you will not be increasing image quality and ASW will like...always be in effect.
It should be fine, I use a R9 270X which does not meet the min specs and does not support ASW. Surprisingly, it works fine for the most part; however, this may be because I am more tolerant to VR sickness than most. That said a 1050 should be fine especially with ASW.
I think it'll be fine since the min is 960. How much are 1050 cards? My 1060 was about $230 but I'd like to get my brother a rig and would like to see the results of your video. Keep us posted 🙂
Be careful, I think Nvidia recommends a 1060 minimum.
960 not 1060. A 1060 is better. Im surprised they support the 960 but not 1050 which is better.
You two may be confusing recommended and minimum. The 960 is minimum, and 1050 should be slightly better than that, so supported. The 970 or 1060 is the recommended.
