Can't get my DK2 going...

So, I can't get the configuration utility to acknowledge the existance of my DK2.
I can see an Orange light only. Never a blue light and never anything from inside the rift.
There is no change if I try switching to extended display.

Things I've done so far.

Updated firmware.
Verified that
OVRService_x64.exe is running
Oculus Config Util is running

Stop and started these servies several times in different orders.

Have tried everything in these two threads.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Me too.

When I'm in "Extend Desktop to the HMD" I can see the desktop inside the lens (flipped over and completely unpractical) but it does't work with game.

In "Direct HMD Access from apps" the lens stay dark but I can see that the trackers work (the camera move when I move the rift).

Very frustrating.

That's more than I'm getting at the moment. So far I haven't seen a single glimmer from inside the HMD. The light stays orange.

Can you share the details of your PC.. OS.. 32bit or 64 bit.. Tower/laptop etc

Have you tried using the additional power cord?

No need... my problem was a definate 1D10T error...

My motherboard has a HDMI slot socket in it... I was plugged into that instead of the video card.

Things are sort of working now, though I have an issue with a weird sort of tearing that only appears in the right eyepiece in the same place on every demo that I've run. I'm a little concerned about that.

Otherwise, things seem to be going as well as I could have expected. I still have to do a bit more reading to tweak a few things (like judder and so forth)... but this weird effect that appears only in my right eyepiece has me a bit flummoxed.

That tearing is because vsync isn't active. Make sure you're getting 75fps and vsync is enabled

Just double checked... vsync is certainly set to "ON" in the NVidia settings. I couldn't find where to set it in the oculus settings or the individual demos. Tearing is still there... and always in the same spot. It's particularly bad when I move my head vertically.

May need to disable Aero.

Got mine, and can't seem to get it going right, either. I downloaded a rollercoaster demo, and it worked in that, but the tracking was backwards. I downloaded two more demos and they show on my 20" monitor, but on my OR it just shows my desktop as if its a second display. If I try and mirror the display, it will only let me show the resolution of the OR, and my 20" monitor goes unusable.

Do I need a driver or something?

You should set your Rift as Primary monitor and use it as an extended monitor, not cloned
