Changing Rift Refresh Rate

Hi

Have oculus announced if devs will have the ability to allow gamers to choose the refresh rate of the CV1 like they can with DK2?

for instance, whilst 90hz may be better, I am fully fine with 75hz, and this will be a much easier goal for hardware to hit, esp if on the lower end of the spectrum.

Will I potentially be able to choose to play my game at say native CV1 res but lock my CV1 to DK2 refresh rate?

thanks
Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR 🙂

I see no reason why this can't and shouldn't be available as an advanced user option. We should be permitted to choose our refresh rate, even 60Hz under warning of nausea in a confirmation window. This will greatly assist power users and developers in troubleshooting and such.

Oculus need to clarify this. In extended mode we can choose refresh rates, but if CV1 is locked to 90hz then I’d need to buy a new computer to support it – something I’ll not do.

CV1 should have an option to go as low as 60hz (with suitable cautionary warnings), as some games still perform smoothly without judder at that rate. Never happen, though.
