Changing saturation brightness contrast hue - How?

Hi, as annoying as extended mode was, we were able to use the nvidia control panel to manipulate the way it all looked.

This was fab, especially for movies.

Unfortunately now, the unified direct mode that it seems to be using, won't allow you to manipulate colours through the control panel because the panel doesn't recognize the rift in anything but extended mode.

I've read about 0.7 being brighter than the previous ones but i couldn't find any of the referred-to file headers to fix the problem.

My question;
Is there a way to manipulate the colour/contrast/brightness/gamma in this new direct mode?

I'm bumping this because I want to know if there is a way to change display settings (including Refresh Rate) in Direct Mode. The main reason why I want to do that is that my Oculus DK2 is afflicted with the problematic darker left eye. In dark scenes, it is very annoying and I believe lowering the refresh rate to 72 Hz or increasing the gamma/brightness could be a work around.

... or maybe SweetFX 2.0 Reshade will soon support the Oculus Direct Mode and that would be another workaround.

I agree, it is a major flaw that direct mode does not register in the OS/Video Card as a monitor and cannot be independently manipulated in any way.

I would like to know if anyone has a solution to this as well!

Not a huge issue now, but it would be a major disaster if there was no color slider in the CV1.
I've once bought GeForce 256 Annihilator Pro after seeying how well my friend's GF2MX performed compared to my Riva TNT 2, especially how good games looked with the color correction.
The price was great. I was so happy I was lucky to get it. I installed the card, the drivers and...
My great mood evaporized when I realized there is no color correction possible on this card.
Since GF4 4200 I NEVER played games without colors bumped a little. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but it's a really useful feature for both movies and games.

Fortunately it's not a technical issue and could be easily implemented, so I think it's obvious it will be present in CV1.
Not an Oculus hater, but not a fan anymore. Still lots of respect for the team-Carmack, Abrash. Oculus is driven by big corporation principles now. That brings painful effects already, more to come in the future. This is not the Oculus I once cheered for.

I cannot understand why it isn't currently possible.

Maybe Nvidia need to sort themselves out and have promised to do so by the time CV1 hits us
(make the rift appear in the control panel.. which it only did in extended mode)

That's a guess. It's the only thing that makes sense.
I have no idea.

I'm not paying money for a video player unless i know i can mess about with the colours, i wish whirlgig had an option.
The new `secret menu` (F6) has nothing.

Won't be able to try until I get home, but what happens if you turn on the extended mode via the command line, then change the display and then turn it off again, I wonder if it will remember what you set?
