Cleaning the facial interface

I have Oculus Quest.
How should I clean up my facial interface foam?
After some sweaty gameplay I'd really love to clean it up, but I really don't want to damage it.
to make it clearer, I want to clean the part that comes in contact with my face.

Couldn't find an answer to this anywhere!

A lot of people use covers that can be removed for washing. It won't help your currently sweaty interface, but will help in the future.

Also  I found this support article on how to clean your Quest. The support pages are useful.

I recommend something like this. Then you just need to use a damp cloth, disinfectant wipe, or even a paper towel to clean it off. Much more hygienic then the stock foam interface pad. And the interface plate they come with is rather nice too since it helps your face breath while using the Quest. Thus avoiding your eyes getting overheated and/or glasses steaming up. That, and the additional padding makes the Quest more comfortable during extended usage.

Yeah, I know. I sound like a shill. But I bought it for my Quest 1 before, and it worked out very very well.

I guess they would be okay for people in colder climates, but too sweaty for places where the sun shines..................

You shouldn't be using a Quest outside, or exposing it to direct sunlight anyway. So I'm not sure how that would matter much.

After your reported sweaty BS sessions I hope you gave your Q1 to your brother (you said you sent it to him as a Xmas present) with a nice new facial interface, lol!

I'd replaced the stock foam Facial Interface with a more hygienic one made by Kiwi within a month of getting the Quest because the foam was getting so funky that I didn't feel comfortable putting it against my face. The pleather pads were getting wiped down with disinfectant wipes after every workout session. I also directed my dad to where replacement pads can be gotten if desired.

As I recommended, the stock foam interface is uncomfortable during long sessions and quickly gets really funky. Thus I recommend replacing it with something more hygienic rather then cleaning it. When I get a Quest 2 next year, I'll also be getting a new Kiwi pleather facial interface setup along with it. And I'm currently looking for something similar to get for my Cosmos cause that too has a foam facial interface as the stock option.

I was specifically pointing out that worrying about the temperature and UV strength outside is kind of a non-issue since you shouldn't be using your Quest outside anyway.

@Pixie40 I also went for the kiwi facial interface with my Q1.  Like you say, the pleather pad is much easier to clean and I find that using the 8mm pad slightly improves the fov.  I don't bother to use the nose blocker because I think it's a bit cooler without it and I also like to be able to peek downward once in a while.

I've also replaced my Rift cv1 faceplate with one similar to the kiwi (AMVR I think?).  Like with my Q1, I don't use its included nose blocker.
