Coating the rift

Considering that reviews say the foam sucks up all  the sweat and its fairly unpleasant to share the rift with others for that reason
Would coating it with one of those hydrophobic sprays be an option?

If you plan on having many people use it, I would invest in a 'VR  Cover'.  They are made from machine-washable materials, so you can take them off and wash them when needed.

I happen to have some of the sprays at home, that would be a simpler solution if it was viable, was hoping someone with the knowledge could enlighten me more

I am suggesting max's method to the next makeup-wearing woman that wants to try the Rift.

OP, I have had the DK2 for over a year and I use it often.  The only person out of about 30 who actually got something on the pad was a lady wearing makeup.  Since the pad is touching your face, I wouldn't risk making it uncomfortable by spraying it with anything that would adhere to it (I am guessing your hydrophobic sprays will coat the material in some way).  The best thing to do would be to have some moist face wipes and have people wipe off quick, and this would keep your padding optimal.

I bought one of the VR Covers for my DK2.  It worked quite well.  My Vive VR Cover has shipped.  They don't have a CV1 cover yet but I'm going to order one as soon as they do.

Keep in mind heat dissipation.
