Connection Instability in v76 and v77

Anonymous
Not applicable

Currently, a large number of users—including myself—are experiencing serious connection issues with Quest Link on PC with versions v76 and v77. Some common problems include: Quest Link disconnecting mid-session, requiring multiple PC restarts to reconnect, or being stuck indefinitely at the server check during startup. The specific issues seem to vary depending on the user's system environment, but from a survey I conducted, nearly 30% of users have reported noticeable instability since v76.

In my case, after updating one of my PCs to v76, the system became stuck at the server check screen and couldn’t proceed further. I wasn’t even able to enter test mode. I tried various troubleshooting steps, including repair, full reinstallation, and changing network settings, but nothing worked. As a result, I’ve continued using v74 on another PC, where everything works perfectly fine.

Several people I know are also struggling with v76 and v77. They’re forced to repair or reinstall the software every time just to be able to launch it, which is obviously not a sustainable experience.

I would like to suggest that, in situations where two consecutive versions introduce serious problems, it would be very helpful if users could not only install the next test version, but also have access to a few older versions—perhaps the last two stable builds. This would allow us to continue working without interruption while issues are being addressed. I hope you’ll consider implementing this.
