So the same questions keep coming up, so I figured this would be a good idea (thanks @CardinalStorm!).

This will be a place for common questions and answers. If you have a unique issue, please feel free to make your own thread, but I will try to grab all the common stuff and add it here.

- Check the History Page to See if your Order Was Successful

If you are not sure if your order went through, please check the history page for the shop.

Sign in if you ordered with your account, or choose guest if you ordered as a guest.
If you ordered as a guest and don't remember the order number, please check the confirmation email.

- Obtain Your Confirmation Email
If you did not receive your confirmation email, please go to this page and enter your email address.

- Total Price Showing as "--" or "$0.00"
This issue has been solved. If you check your history page now it should show the full price.

- Problems Changing Addresses for Asian Orders
Some Asian customers have had problems updating their address due to a bug on our side. If you were affected by this, you may have had your address automatically changed to something incorrect. This feature is now disabled, so feel free to change your address now.

- Confusion over Currency in Some Regions
Australian order are actually quoted a price in USD. Sorry for the confusion.

- Updated Shipping Estimates
The estimated shipping time should be around the date that was shown when you pr-ordered. Unfortunately, this date is calculated dynamically, and is not actually stored in the database or on your order anywhere. So Oculus Support agents will not be able to tell you the estimated shipping time if you forgot or didn't see it. At a later day we may come up with a way to give more accurate estimates, but this is to be determined at this point.

- Touch Pre-Order Reservations
Anyone that has a successful Oculus Rift pre-order will be given a reservation for Touch. It won't matter if the page had an error in that section, we will honor the reservation.

- When Does Shipping Start
Oculus Rift pre-orders will begin shipping starting on March 28th, 2016.

- Entering Your VAT Number to Remove VAT in EU
No, we don't support removing VAT from the order.

That's obviously not the case for all of us!


In the same boat but I suspect there are a lot of people like this. I ended up reordering later in day after no email and can see 2 preauthorised payments so thinking its let me order 2. Support ticket is in but there are a few others in same boat so they will be going through the database and updating /fixing things.

Cyber if I don't get a confirmation email do I need to log a new support ticket or update the existing 1??

Hi I'm currently stuck for business reasons in the God forsaken Greece.

I can currently confirm that Greece is a non launch country.
Since propably this non-country will never be supported for obvious reasons, is there a way I can pre-order rift?

Is there any way I can order from this slumb and be sure to receive it before it is stolen from any Greek Customs Office employee?

hm.

i think the problem with the confirmation mails wasnt fixed entirely. people who already got theirs have gotten a second. but many people of us who didnt receive one in the first place, didnt receive one now either.

so for me its

confirmation mail: no
order history with right price: yes
answer from support: no
(but there will be so many support tickets waiting for them after how buggy the preorder went that i can understand that they are not able to answer that fast)


since i finally have the price confirmed in my profile order history i am more relaxed about the email now, but it would still be nice to have one.

to be honest i did expect a much more professional preorder for the consumer version. dont know how that makes me feel but i think a company that big with that much funding should be able to have a proper preorder without every third or fourth preorder being bugged in some way. the website and the whole order process isnt up to a 2 billion company. not even close.

the whole process of writing a support ticket was ultra weird. first i have to write the ticket, then i get confirmation for that. then i can go to the support website from oculus. i am asked to log in, but i cant log in since its a different login then in my normal oculus account. so i have to make a new account for the support website with my eamil and a new password!? why isnt my support account linked directly to my oculus account.

then there is the old oculus website with the old orders of our dk2's that doesnt have anything to do with the new order page but the accoutns are somehow linked!? the old profile page where my dk2 order should probably be, doesnt list my dk2 order.

the whole process until this point was really really annoying. and while i know that oculus has a lot of stuff around their heads these days i think at no time it should have been this buggy.

Well.. I make order, but I have second thoughts (and I'm afraid I'm not only one).


With all this hatred and people telling that Oculus is finished (because of the price, and - theoretically - already better gaming support in VIVE - from Steam) I'm really worried about future of this headset...

That IS expensive, and I will not be able to buy another one if oculus become dead end (if this platform will be too expensive for masses, no one will make content for it).
So - tell me - do I have to reasons to be worried, or consider cancelling my order...?

However the address seems all correct everywhere i have looked (was same address use for DK2). Might be worth to add in the main list?

Just saw the "Problems Changing Addresses for Asian Orders" ,do we need just click edit address and send the same one even though the address was correct from start?

Hi buddy. Thanks for answering some questions.

When I started the pre order the page stated March shipping. By the time the site was able to work enough to finish my order it was then quoting May (order complete page).
Now if I check the page via my history it's quoting July?

So 3 month window.... there has to be a way to narrow that down. You guys are a big company with many employees. Surely no big company can be so unorganised?

When you load that page, it shows the current delivery estimate for orders placed now. There's no way to use that page to see the status of your previously placed order. What it showed at the time you completed your order is the best guess of when you will receive your Rift.
