Consumer Rift Pre-Order MEGA-THREAD

So the same questions keep coming up, so I figured this would be a good idea (thanks @CardinalStorm!).

This will be a place for common questions and answers. If you have a unique issue, please feel free to make your own thread, but I will try to grab all the common stuff and add it here.

- Check the History Page to See if your Order Was Successful

If you are not sure if your order went through, please check the history page for the shop.
https://shop.oculus.com/history
Sign in if you ordered with your account, or choose guest if you ordered as a guest.
If you ordered as a guest and don't remember the order number, please check the confirmation email.

- Obtain Your Confirmation Email
If you did not receive your confirmation email, please go to this page and enter your email address.
https://shop.oculus.com/en-us/order-verification/

- Total Price Showing as "--" or "$0.00"
This issue has been solved. If you check your history page now it should show the full price.

- Problems Changing Addresses for Asian Orders
Some Asian customers have had problems updating their address due to a bug on our side. If you were affected by this, you may have had your address automatically changed to something incorrect. This feature is now disabled, so feel free to change your address now.

- Confusion over Currency in Some Regions
Australian order are actually quoted a price in USD. Sorry for the confusion.

- Updated Shipping Estimates
The estimated shipping time should be around the date that was shown when you pr-ordered. Unfortunately, this date is calculated dynamically, and is not actually stored in the database or on your order anywhere. So Oculus Support agents will not be able to tell you the estimated shipping time if you forgot or didn't see it. At a later day we may come up with a way to give more accurate estimates, but this is to be determined at this point.

- Touch Pre-Order Reservations
Anyone that has a successful Oculus Rift pre-order will be given a reservation for Touch. It won't matter if the page had an error in that section, we will honor the reservation.

- When Does Shipping Start
Oculus Rift pre-orders will begin shipping starting on March 28th, 2016.

- Entering Your VAT Number to Remove VAT in EU
No, we don't support removing VAT from the order.

I see no difference to when I have pre ordered from other retailers and been in a queue.

I got a rough estimate of when stock would be in when ordering and heard nothing until it shipped.

This has been the case for amazon, zavvi and play.

I never thought I was being treated badly.

In my case I have an April order so will just have to wait, of course if there is a significant delay I would like to know but past that I don't feel I need daily/weekly updates on where my order is up to.

Well when April 30th rolls around and you have still heard nothing Percy you will know how the people who were told March feel 😄

I agree, the problem is there may be many who saw March when they started but where April when they finished. Likewise I could end up in May.

It seems that you get a warning before shipping to make sure funds are in place which is nice and then you will get a shipping confirmation.

Guys, just have a little patience. New company, new product, new launch, new everything. What did you expect? I got the DK1 and DK2 both when they first launched and even those two had launch issues. But eventually you get your product and you'll be happy with it.
Go out, get some sun and fresh air.. the world will not end if you don't get your rift email today B)

Soooo according to the reddit instructions I pre ordered at 06.01.2016 - 16:07:3x (UTC) and the last one seen on reddit to atleast get the 1-3 weeks mail is from is 16:07:12, so I was a bit too late ...
My Order is 264XXXXX
But any "official" information would have been nice.

Is it me or does it seem to only be people who HAVE a DK1 or DK2 who are telling everyone to chill.?  LOL.

I'm still pissed that Oculus told us not to get a DK2 because the CV1 was "shipping soon".

I understand where the chill people are coming from. But when I order a product based on information provided by the company that I've researched , and the research influenced my decision to buy. I expect what was stated.

I think the main point is, what ever happened to "The customer is always right!"  It seems over the last 5 years we have expected less and less from companies, you can see it all the time on game launches.  The game manufacture has shipping issues, or the online game launch is unplayable, and we as customer just accept it, but why?  We as customer need to start holding companies accountable for promised expectations.

Is clear that Mr Palmer cant run a bussiness, sorry to say that but is true, I have my own bussiness and I should never threat my customers like you do, is just a kid and his showing us how unprofesional he is and respectfull with customers. You can post now whatever you want against me Oculus fans, but this is the true! Im just honest about this and I think Im not the only one thinking the same.

Palmer doesn't run the business. He is not the CEO. The CEO is responsible for operations and logistics. Palmer is the creator/public face of Oculus. The buck stops with the CEO, and ultimately he is responsible for any issues that have arisen and the decisions on how transparent to be about them. Unless the CEO was specifically given direction by the shareholders(or owner(Facebook) in this case) he is the one your ire should be directed at, and not Palmer.
