Controllers die when not in use?

I got my quest a week ago, and ive had to change the batterys about 5 times already... When im not using the quest and leave it on the charger my batterys would just die overnight? Not sure, if im not supposed to leave my headset plugged in at night which may be triggering the batterys to drain, or just some how they turn on when not in use. Anybody got any info on how to fix this?

First off don't plug your headset in overnight.  But I've noticed short battery life in my controllers as well and I'm using lithium batteries in them.  They shouldn't go bad when not being used.

Ya, don't leave it plugged in overnight.  Also, I suggest you use Eneloop AA standard (white) 1900mahr rechargeables.  If you buy 4x batteries with charger you will always be able to swap them out quickly/easily.

Whats wrong with leaving your Quest charging overnight?

I need to investigate whether powered-on or powered-off while charging overnight makes a difference to controller battery life, not sure yet whether an active headset is affecting controllers when they're not in use.

Charging the headset overnight isn't an issue as far as I'm aware, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, doesn't seem to make any odds. I tend to power-down most times though not always.

When I plug my Quest in to charge, it turns it on.  When the Quest is on, so is the controllers.  If you keep the Quest plugged in, yeah, that's definitely going to drain the controllers.

Somethings different between our setups, then. When my Quest is not in use, it's on my stand on my desk, plugged into the wall outlet with a USB C connector so it stays charged. My controllers don't stay on, and their charge lasts multiple weeks at least - and I use my headset frequently.
