Cores or clock speed for cpu?

Hey all. I have a pc already with a xeon e5-2630 v3 and that has 8 cores but 2.933 ghz. Will it do a good job becuse it has alot of cores? or is speed the main factor for vr?

In general, higher clocks help and you won't see a huge improvement going over 4 cores.

I had already run the test, and it showed neg, but I decided to post anyway because I wasn't sure what specs the application was really considering. Would you happen to know what the testing application measures most? That would be super helpful.

The application isn't considering specs.  It's a look up table of compatible components.

If it doesn't pass, then most likely either it will not work at all or be a sub-par experience.

I use to have a 6 core amd and that wasn't upto spec but worked fine,although noticed a big difference  when I got my i7

I just upgraded this weekend and noticed a huge improvement with no issues so far.  The 3770 was no slouch, but noticeable going to the 7700k.
